The Avett Brothers, Buddy Guy to play Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s
Saturday in the Park 2022 Festival
The 2022 Saturday in the Park Main Stage headliners have been confirmed for the 2022 installment of the festival, whose 32nd edition will be held on Saturday July 2, in Grandview Park, in Sioux City, IA. This year’s event will return to one day, after last year’s two day affair.
Three time Grammy Award winners The Avett Brothers will close this year’s festival, with Buddy Guy returning to perform immediately prior, which will include another diverse line-up for the 32nd Installment of the festival.. Multi platinum artist Elle King, Indie Pop artist Daisy the Great, and folk rock group Doc Robinson will also perform on the Main Stage with additional Main Stage and Abe Stage performers to be announced at a later date.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday July 2nd from Noon until 10:30pm. Once again the festival will be held at Grandview Park in Sioux City, IA. The festival will continue to be free to the public.
Event Co-Founder Dave Bernstein said, “After a great fest in 2021 we are really excited to welcome back The Avett Brothers and also Buddy Guy. Both artists have graced our stage before, and will make this year’s festival musically memorable. We are very grateful we can continue to present the caliber of artists at SITP we have become known for, and this year will be exceptional.”
The Abe Stage will continue to showcase a diverse line-up of contemporary music in its new location on the Stone Park Blvd. side of the park. This move initially allowed for additional space for attendees and to avoid the construction area near the water towers. The massive success of this stage in the new location pushed festival organizers to make it permanent. Abe Co-Organizer Jason Reinart said, “The location last year was off the hook and we can’t wait to get back there and continue to build on what we started last year with the move, it will be awesome!”
Saturday in the Park draws tens of thousands of people each year, and is presented for the sixth consecutive year by Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City.
The Saturday in the Park Festival was founded in 1991 by Dave Bernstein and Adam Feiges. In addition to a line-up of world class artists, the 32nd annual Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City’s Saturday in the Park Festival will also feature the return of Arts Alley, the KCAU Kids Zone , and some of the best festival food anywhere. The festival wraps up with a fireworks finale following The Avett Brothers performance.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Sioux City will continue to present the festival this year, and Tyson Foods has renewed as the headline sponsor. “As has been the case for well over 30 years, this fest would not be possible and would not be free without the help of our community and our sponsors. We sincerely thank them for supporting amazing live music presented for free in Sioux City, for all to attend that desire!,” said Bernstein. Sponsorships are available by contacting the Saturday in the Park Festival office.
