62-YEAR-OLD THOMAS DUANE POPP WAS ARRESTED JANUARY 11TH BY LONGVIEW, WASHINGTON POLICE FOR FIRST DEGREE MURDER IN THE 1983 SIOUX CITY DEATH OF 18-YEAR-OLD TERRI MCCAULEY.
A WOODBURY COUNTY GRAND JURY INDICTED POPP ON JANUARY 10TH.
THE WOODBURY COUNTY ATTORNEY’S OFFICE CONFIRMS POPP IS FIGHTING EXTRADITION FROM THE COWLITZ COUNTY, WASHINGTON JAIL WHERE HE IS BEING HELD ON $750-THOUSAND DOLLARS BOND.
THAT’S BEEN REDUCED FROM THE $3-MILLION DOLLAR CASH ONLY BOND HE WAS PREVIOUSLY HELD ON.
TERRI MCCAULEY WAS LAST SEEN ALIVE BY HER FAMILY ON SEPTEMBER 27TH OF 1983.
HER MOTHER FILED A MISSING PERSON’S REPORT ON OCTOBER 5TH AND MCCAULEY’S BODY WAS FOUND LESS THAN 24 HOURS LATER NEAR 33RD STREET, OFF OF FLOYD BOULEVARD.
SHE HAD BEEN SHOT POINT-BLANK BY A 20-GAUGE SHOTGUN.
